A blog post from me.. crazy I know! Life has been busy for our family and I am so thankful for all the work since starting my personal business, but it definitely has not been easy. Matt is super dad and takes care of the kids when I am out at a shoot or a wedding. I want to be home with the family on the weekends and I miss waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee while chaos ensues in our home. Instead it has been hurrying up to get out the door or get ready for a session. I love photography and how much fun it is to meet families and capture not just pictures but memories of either life milestones or just the everyday. I started the business because I do love it, but the main goal is for me to be able to stay home with our kids during the week. I am now working part time (30 hours) at my other job and working my photography business on the weekends and in the evening after the kids go to be, but I hope soon to just do the photography business.
I have been so blessed to have had so many referrals and business since officially launching in January and I cannot complain. However, yesterday was my first day off in a longggg time and I soooo enjoyed it! I cannot tell you how great it was to wake up and just tend to the kids and not rush to get out the door or worry about getting in playtime before my evening session. If I did not have my other job during the weekdays I know it would not be so hard, but it is just too hard to give up the steady income when photography is so cyclic (at least at this point).
Anyways, back to yesterday. We decided to go to CC's for a swim and grill lunch. Hadley loves to swim and was ready to get in the pool right away! We had a great time swimming and eating homemade hamburgers. It was just the day we needed as a family and I cherished it so much. I thought about not bringing my camera so I would be in the moment, but honestly the reason I love what I do is capturing days just like this.. (so I didn't edit them to save time and I have 8 sessions to edit and deliver this week alone :/)
I will try to recap on the last 5 months of our lives at another time, but for now I am really trying to make the time to remember and journal the moments as they happen.
