Death-trap furniture

So our house is not really baby proof. I mean we covered the outlets and keep the dog kennel door closed so she stops going in there, but other than that our furniture is rod-iron, stone, glass, and wood with sharp edges and that is just the coffee table. It is getting pretty bad... Hadley has started getting stuck when she crawls through the kitchen table chairs because of all the metal. Last pediatrician visit I told her that no we don't let her pull up on furniture because we had death-trap furniture. She laughed and said she does too and all three of her kids are fine. I have been wanting to get a new coffee table that was also a storage ottoman. I want something Hadley can pull up on and we can finally take the baby gate pin down from around the one we have. My MIL has been bringing me these great Home Decorators magazines and yesterday we found a super cheap rug that we both really liked, so I went to buy it online today. Once on their site, I went and looked at the furniture section for a baby proof ottoman/coffee table. So this is what I find that I just LOVE:

Yep, not exactly baby proof.. in fact the complete opposite. Do you know what the name of this collections is called?! Holbrook! No joke! I think it is a sign. http://www.homedecorators.com/P/Holbrook_Coffee_Table/950/

Too bad it is not in my budget and it doesn't quite meet the safety standards for a almost 1 year old (gulp, ONE! yikes). I love mixing old and new pieces and this would be perfect. Oh well, maybe in 10 years!

Break!

I don't know what is wrong with me today.. I cannot keep my eyes open! It looks like rain and perfect napping weather, but I think going to sleep while working from home is a big no-no. I will take a "cigarette break" and update my blog. We call roaming the web cigarette breaks in our office... heck the smokers take 15 mins every other hour.. so we think we can do the same :-)

First and foremost, Maddox Jeffrey Lind made his debut Monday at 10:17 p.m. weighing 7lbs 4oz and 19 1/4" he is just perfect and very healthy!

In this picture I think he looks like Victoria, but in person you definitely see Jeff in him, too. I forgot how little newborns really are. He was so good the whole time I was there and just squeaked a little, cried a second and then went back to sleep! Victoria is having a harder recovery. After a long active labor and c-section she is recovering well, but just sick from all the drugs they gave her. Prayers for a quick recovery for her!

A few updates about Hadley

  • She has decided hand feeding the dogs is a lot more fun then feeding herself
  • She has a new bump on her head every day.. she gets into everything
  • We had to take the adorable mobile off of her crib, because she will just sit up, pull it down and play with it instead of sleeping
  • She sleeps with her stuffed pink lamb, lamby, every night and squeezes it and holds on to it tight.. it is the cutest thing to see
  • She is in a pick me up okay put me down okay pick me up and repeat stage
  • She thinks everything is funny
  • She absolutely loves the puppies' tails - she loves when they wag them and she scoots around grabbing them
I am sure there are a lot more things about her, but my cigarette break is up so I am going to get back to work!

If I owe you a project...

I have had many projects going on lately. I have over promised and under delivered and that is not how I like to do things in my life. I have decided I am going to finish up all the projects I have promised people and then really take some time to spend with family and friends and work on my health. I love that I have so much going on and am very blessed that people believe in me and my abilities. So thank you all so so so much for giving me a chance! I love all the projects I have been asked to do lately and I want to deliver the best to everyone and I just feel like I have not. If I owe you something I will have it to you this week for sure!

I am so grateful for everyone in my life! Thank you all so much for everything,

10 Months

I say this every month, but each month goes by faster and faster. Hadley is 10 months old! She is into EVERYTHING! Today, Matt kept saying "she is wearing me out," and I agree! She does not stop except maybe for her naps.. and that is a maybe.

She is pretty much on the move all the time and she doesn't move quietly :-) She drinks from a sippy cup and eats table food. She love guacamole and anything we eat. She love loves the little veggie snacks and maple sticks that look like cheese puffs. I really think she said "up" today. Maybe not, but I always ask her "up?" when I pick her up and now she crawls up to me and pulls up on my legs. Tonight before bed she kept doing that and I am pretty sure I heard UP! She has dadadada, babababa, mamama down and she makes shhhh noises and other funny cute noises :-)

Today we enjoyed a very nice family day at the park. Let the pictures begin.
Someone is very ticklish!
Hanging out with her favorite book.
She gives me this look all the time.
And this one... like stop taking my picture!
She is contemplating actually eating them or hitting her tray and feeding the dogs like she usually does these days.
Today was such a beautiful day! Perfect day for a family park day.
She loves the swing!
I am no germ-a-phobe, but right after she bite the swing she licked the metal.. I cringed and I am pretty sure Matt almost had a heart attack!
This is the best "family" shot I could get.
Daddy's girl!
Hadley's new friend Henry. He ran over to the slide to meet her and totally ate it on the ground. Never cried once and didn't let his breakfast hit the ground.. my kind of kid :-)
This is one of my favorites.. it totally captures Hadley's at this stage.. On the go, smiling all the time and we are just trying to capture her before she gets into something that is a "no no"
Check out Henry
Daddy's Girl... see a trend :-)
Worn out puppies! Matt and the pups ran around the soccer fields and through a flock of ducks.. they didn't appreciate it like Koda and Zoe did!
Koda and Zoe keeping an eye on Hadley... such a good big brother and sister.
Someone stole daddy's cookie!
After she tried to eat it and drink her milk at the same time she then feed it to her daddy! Such a sweet giving girl!
Just love this picture
She is an occasional thumb sucker..

My First Mother's Day

This year was my first official Mother's Day and I was spoiled for sure by my amazing family! We enjoyed a brunch with 3 amazing moms who I personally know will do anything for their kids. We are living proof. I received many beautiful gifts this year. I was very surprised of course because to me this is my biggest gift:

The greatest gift I could have ever received. And yes her eyes are that blue.. I don't photoshop them or else they would look pretty scary!
Relaxing bath goodies!
What Mother's Day is all about!

My mom gave me a Mother's Day gift.. She is always thinking about everyone but herself.
Hadley gave me these beautiful earrings. I think Matt helped a little :-)

I am a very blessed daughter. For anyone that knows me well knows my mom. And I know they would all agree with me that she is one amazing women. My mom has been a single mom for almost 15 years and during that time she has endlessly given of herself not only to my brother and me but to any and everyone that needs anything. Unfortunately, there are not many words that would describe my mom.. all the positive adjustive just don't do it. I know how blessed I am to have been given such a wonderful mom. If you ask her what she wanted to be in life she always said a mom and she says it proudly. She has one of the most difficult jobs in the world and she does it well and very creatively. She is building a cathedral birdhouse right now. Who knows how to do that?! :-) To see the finished project become a fan of her page. (Yep, a little plug for my mom's company:-)) To try to sum her up is impossible, but I will give it my best shot. My mom is creative, loving, caring, giving, beautiful, big hearted, open minded, forgiving, spiritual, kind and most importantly she is my mom. I love you mom! Thank you so much for everything you do for me.

Thank you to all the wonderful moms' in our life.

Official 9 Month Appointment

Hadley had her official 9 month appointment a few weeks ago. She is right on track with development and her official measurements were:

Height: 30" and in the 99th percentile
Weight: 19 1/2 lbs and in the 60th percentile
Head: I don't remember but I know it was 25th percentile

Dr. Brack still heard the heart murmur so she recommended we see a pediatric cardiologist to have everything checked out. She was not concerned and felt like it was literally just a slight noise and not a defect or issue at all. Of course we were a little nervous about having to take her, but felt everything would be just fine. We choose not to tell grandparents to save them from worry (you can be mad at us now if you want ;-/). We went Monday to the cardiologist and did an EKG and echo-cardiogram (ultrasound).

The EKG went well and fast as she was entertained by all the hanging butterflies in the room. The ultrasound was a little bit longer.. after 10oz of milk and 3 different tries from the tech we finally finished. The Dr was very very thorough and knew after the first ultrasound the murmur was absolutely nothing. He compared it to a little freckle on your skin. He had the technician redo a few of the shots because he wanted to thoroughly check every valve. He said everything looked perfect and the murmur will not cause any medical concerns ever. It is innocent and so therefore you can never blame anything on it.. his words exactly.

She will be 10 months in 4 days.. only a couple months away from her birthday!!! We had a photo shoot planned with Victoria  for her birthday invitations but since she is 36 weeks pregnant and 3cm dilated already we had to postpone it till after baby Lind's arrival! I cannot believe baby Lind will be here in the next couple of weeks possibly days.Yay!
