9 Months

I honestly can not believe 9 months have already gone by...

Hadley is the best part of our lives! We can't wait to get her up in the morning and play with her as long as she can stay awake before bed. We have been a busy family lately. I am looking for a little down time! I am guessing maybe in 17 years and 3 months :-)  Just kidding.. well maybe.

Here is what our little girl has been up to:

Moving: This girl is on the move! She started crawling around 8 months when Matt got his iPad. Literally we were playing with it on the floor and she started crawling to it. As we moved it around on the floor she would follow it! And they say technology makes lazy kids ;-) now she is getting up in a normal crawl position.

What she is into: Pretty much any and everything she can get into! She likes to open and close slam her dresser drawer. Over and over and over again. She likes door stops, outlets (of course they are covered), pretty much loves everything we say "no no" to.

Size: She is going next week for her official 9 month appointment (no shots this time! ya!) I know she is at least 20lbs and very long! She wears 18 months clothes for the most part, the others are just too short. Size 3 diapers and size 3 or 4 nighttime diapers.

Sleeping: She is still a pretty good sleeper. About 11-12 hours a night and when she is home with us 3-4 hours of napping. She is giving Elsa a hard time with naps. Elsa is so sweet and doesn't want to hear Hadley cry. I on the other hand know she will cry it out in about 5 mins, 10 max.

Eating: She will eat, but would prefer to be on the move, even when it comes to drinking her bottle. She also prefers feeding herself and is almost over baby food. Her top front two teeth have broke through the gums, but still have a ways to go before they are all the way down.

We get her big girl car seat today! Ya! I am pretty sure I am the most excited about it! I am looking forward to not having to lug around the infant carrier and for her not to sweat so bad in her car seat. Unfortunately she is always hot, like me (the only symptom of Thyroid disease I was looking forward to was being cold all the time - that never happened) so I am hoping this will help. I have been told all car seats have to pass the same safety standards and I didn't have to buy the most expensive brand. Although that maybe true, I am very comfortable with my research and purchasing the one I felt most comfortable with!

I will post pictures later today. I have tons.. surprise, surprise :-) I just can't help it! I have the ultimate mom camera and I put it to use all the time.

8 Months

Since Hadley is almost 9 months I am going to have to forgo the normal monthly stats on this one.. from what I can remember (:-( the whole point of doing this blog is so I wouldn't forget anything..oops!) she started crawling during this time.. it is a funny army crawl, BUT in the last 2 days she has started getting up and crawling in the normal crawl position! She rocks back-in-forth and only crawls a little bit before it is back to the army crawl.

She is NOT my petite princess.. in fact someone thought she was 18 months! Now, she would be a little behind on milestones if she was 18 months, but I do have to give this lady a little bit of a break because she is now wearing 18 months in most brands. In the boutique or brand name clothing she is 12 months, but at Carter's and Children's place she is 18 months for sure, except pj's. The 12 months are tight, and will only probably fit for a little while (I just bought them Monday!), but the 18 month are too long and the feet are giant on them!

Oh and the biggest thing... I just bought a new car seat for her! A big girl car seat!!! WOW, they are expensive, but you cannot put a price on your child's safety. I did my research, and researched, and researched some more and just bought this one: http://www.diapers.com/product/productdetail.aspx?productid=53553 The new standard is keeping the car seat rear facing until they are two. This one will go rear facing up to 40lbs and then forward facing up to 70lbs. This one will last us until she needs a booster seat.

We actually need two, but for now we plan on putting the new one in my car and just keeping the infant car seat in Matt's truck all the time. It can handle up to 35lbs, but she is getting so long she is outgrowing it and it is getting so heavy to carry her around in it. So this way we can just carry her! We will have to get the other one for Matt's truck soon, but I think we could go another two months. That will at least help with the $230.00 price tag :-/ (and that was with the 20% coupon).

2nd Wedding Anniversary

March 14 is our wedding anniversary. We celebrated this year, at home, with Hadley! What a wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary. Last year, we had reservations for a restaurant downtown and about mid-day we decided we would rather continue working on the nursery and eat sandwiches instead of stopping and getting ready to go out. This year that thought didn't even cross our minds. We knew we wanted to celebrate with Hadley! Here are a few pictures from one of the most wonderful days of my life - March 14, 2009:

Heavy Heart

I love this song and dedicate it to Matt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7M7cJ4DydQ

He always can make me feel better through the "ups and downs." And lately, there have been some down moments. It may have been his birthday, but I definitely feel like he was my gift! (Don't make fun - I'm cheesy like that :-))

I'm also very thankful for my family and friends that I can count on through the ups and downs. We know what a blessed family we are and how lucky we do have it.

Happy Birthday Matt!

Today Matt turned 28 ;-) Somehow our age gap keeps getting less and less! It was a very low key evening. We ate an awesome vegetable soup (diet food-yum) and played with Hadley. Here are a few pictures of her helping Matt open his present:

I think she was upset it wasn't for her

Not sure what she is doing here.. but it's adorable :-)

It was a fun birthday! Anytime we can spend together is great!

Looking forward to our weekend with the family!

For the Grandparents

She is so serious when it comes to taking pictures!

I try to make her laugh but when I do I never capture the picture perfectly

She was very interested in the grass

Yucky.. that doesn't taste good!
