Happy 8 Months Crosby

Here comes the cliché… I cannot believe he is already 8 months old. Really though, how did that much time pass since he was born?!

So much has happened and I have not documented it as much as I did with Hadley, but we do celebrate all those little moments of him growing up. I have always thought he looks like me and therefore my dad (and brother). He has the Holbrook sloped down eyebrows for sure and so does his cousin Jacob.  I don’t see as much of me in Hadley (except those cheeks!) but Crosby I really can see it. Except those blue eyes – they definitely got them from their daddy.

Crosby has 2 bottom teeth and is cutting 2 top teeth now. He spits up all the time still, but is obviously gaining weight. He wears size 4 diapers and size 12 month clothes. He can rock back and forth in the crawl position like a champ, but doesn’t actually crawl more than a few feet or around in a circle. UPDATE: I started this post a few days ago and last night he was actually crawling! So it won’t be long before he is all over the house. He smiles so much at us! LOVE! He grunts when he is hungry and doesn’t stop until you give him food. He reaches up for you to pick him up (love that) and he just wants to be cuddled at times (love that even more).  He is radical when it comes to changing his diaper or clothes or sometimes even while being held. He is so strong he can inch his way out of your arms quickly if you don’t hold him tight.

He has said the words momma and dada a couple times but let it be known - momma was first!!!! Matt says he whines the most when I am in the room (figures), wanting me to pick him up and hold him if I haven’t done that in awhile. I know I did it to myself though. It is hard to put down my sweet cuddly baby. Hadley did not want to be held like that when she was his age, but now she does :-) This morning Crosby was crawling in my lap for me to hold him and Hadley came and plopped right down in it.. she maybe jealous but she usually will give him a kiss and let me hold them together without a big fuss.

Here are pictures of our sweet little boy:

Crosby loves Koda like Hadley loves Zoe.. so we have figured it out Koda will eventually sleep in his room and Zoe in Hadley's. That is how it works.. right?!

SANTA!

This first story happened to Matt and Hadley so it is not as funny as when he told it. Anyways, they went to pick up a pizza from a local pizza place (http://locatellis.com/ - try it - "it'sss good" according to Hadley) and as soon as they walked in Matt said he thought a man there looked just like Santa. He had the beard, a flat red hat on, the tummy - the whole getup.Thankfully Hadley didn't know that, but she loudly asked Matt "Daddy, who is that?" of course while pointing her finger at him. He said many people turned and looked at them as well as the Santa looking guy. Matt just turned and tried to whisper to her that is was a man eating dinner with his family while also trying to distract her with something else. Hadley talks all the time and is fairly clear with her words and sentences - so everybody heard her and knew who she was talking about.

Matt said the Santa look alike got up and came over to them. He then handed Matt and Hadley a card.  Whether Hadley is shy or outgoing depends on many different variables, and that night she was outgoing. She said Hi and waved to him. The card he handed them was a business card. His name is Real Santa Jim. Ha! Matt said he had a walking cane with reindeer on them. He really plays the part minus actually wearing the suit. Hadley came home and told me all about Santa and his beard and reindeer... she was so excited for some reason. Probably because she loves talking to people (when she is in the mood) she even waves to the skeleton our neighbor has hanging up by their house. She waves and says "Hi Mr Skelten!". She is something else.

So then a couple of days ago I didn't want to cook so Hadley and I went to pick up Pappasitos (which Hadley can say correctly - she is our kid :-)). While walking to the pick up area I noticed Santa was there eating with his family. I tried to walk by quickly so she wouldn't notice and she didn't but while waiting she spotted him and started squealing "Santa, mommy Santa is here, Santa, Santa SANTAAAAa!" I knew that would happen. The people in line were looking at us and then at the guy. He didn't come over this time and I am not sure he heard us, but it is the same guy - Real Santa Jim.

Here is his website - you be the judge! http://realsantajim.com/

Baby Prediction

Hadley at 18 months.. she had bangs then and the kid on the right looks about that age.. I guess..

During my bachelorette party, a few of the girls picked this up and said this is what my baby would probably look like... I have to say it is pretty close! I ran across the picture today and couldn't believe it so I had to share.  Especially since she is the first born and looks similar and Crosby looks nothing like that.

So it begins

Hadley has been sleeping in her toddler bed for months now. She does really well in it and usually stays in bed. We have her monitor just set up for sound so we can hear her if she gets up. Either she doesn't say a peep or we don't hear her because the next thing we know she is in our room announcing her arrival. Saturday morning, it was around 6:30, Sunday morning it was 5:30 and Monday morning is was 5!! Um no way. That is not going to work for me at all.

Tuesday morning, when she showed up at 5, I just picked her up and put her in bed next to me. I was so exhausted I didn't even have the energy to take her back to her room. She kicked me, played (tugged) with my hair, hummed, squirmed and finally fell asleep at a diagonal with her feet jammed into my back. I DID NOT CARE! I just wanted some more sleep. We slept another 2 hours and she woke up a happy camper.

Hadley has never slept in our bed before this week and it is happened twice now. I don't want to make it a habit since we already have an 85lb dog and a 55lb dog in our bed :/ (although I would gladly kick them out for Hadley, it hasn't happened like that, we ALL 5 slept together). I'm not against family beds and it works for many families.. it is just not going to work for us!

Last night, she slept all night in her bed. In fact, both kids slept all night - WHOA HOO! That is a rarity around here lately. Poor Matt he is the one who sleeps lightly and hears them first. He wakes up so easily and I don't (unless he is not around then I sleep so light). I also don't mind seeing if they will self soothe first and sometimes it works, he would rather just go in there.

Let's just say budget for coffee around this house has increased significantly since they were born :-)

Even more pictures...

Crosby loves the puppies!

Zoe doing what she does best!
Crosby loving it!
All the trouble makers together (j/k!) Koda age 4,
Zoe age 3, Hadley age 2, and Crosby 7 1/2 months
I think we have our hands full!
Hadley gives him kisses and hugs all the time
Our little gymnast!
Hadley bringing toys to Crosby

View from the other side.. no idea what Hadley is doing there
When I ask her to smile this is what I get :-)
Last Sunday I was tired and just wanted to lay down -
they really laid on me like this for an hour..
And I fell asleep.. doesn't bother me that much. I can sleep anywhere
(Koda was mad because he had the muzzle on during laundry time)
I can make that boy smile so big and that melts my heart. I tried it out
while he was eating and he couldn't resist and flashed me the sweetest grin!

He will smile until he can't see me behind the camera

Look at those eyes (and cheeks!)

Brother and sister!
She was eating pasta like a 2 year old would!

She wants to do every thing Crosby does.. including hang out in the carrier! haha!

Every stuffed animal in this house is wearing a
diaper thanks to Hadley! Now if only she could
change Crosby's!
She fell and hit her lip with her teeth (while trying
to do a push-up or who knows what on the tile)..
Nothing a Popsicle can"t fix

Just a Happy HAPPY boy! (I know it looks like all the other picture of him I post, but he is just so cute and happy surrounded by all his toys!)
Hadley said "mommy take my picture!"..
can't say no to that!
Love the back and forth rocking! Soon he will be crawling.

She is loving riding her tricycle right now and being outside (I am enjoying this weather, too!)

Just taking a little rest with Mommy!

She just pushed it down the driveway and then looked at me and said no no! Self disciplining works for me.

I had to capture those beautiful eyes!

My handsome husband and cute son!

Hadley didn't like it when we put the
Thud Guard on Crosby

I will eventually type a full post, but until then I just had to share for the Grandparents and Aunt and Uncles out there!
