Guess what?!

Adults can get hand, foot and mouth, too! How do I know?! It's my turn with the virus. I knew it was possible but prayed we would escape it.. so now lets pray Matt doesn't get it... I don't think I could handle that ;)

The good news is Hadley is almost completely back to normal. She has her energy back and most of the blisters have scabbed over so a couple more days and she will be over this! Crosby is getting there. His hand blisters are bad, but the others are starting to go away. My blisters just started today so if it follows the same pattern as the kids I should start healing Saturday. Unfortunately, unlike chickenpox you can get this multiple times from different viruses. I sure hope that is not the case for us. All I want is a healthy family!

Painful!

These poor babies.. I know it will be over soon, but this viral infection is bad. It has to get worse before its better but man are we over this! I'm not sure how Hadley is even walking. All the kids except one at Elsa's has it but Hadley and Crosby by far have it the worst when it comes to the blisters. One of the kids had the fever and a few bumps so they thought it was bug bites. Now that everyone is sick, they know its is Hand foot and mouth.. and don't be fooled this can be all over. Hadley's bottom and thighs are just as bad.

HFMD x 2

We all want our kids to learn to share, right? Well, Hadley has the sharing thing down pat. Crosby just turned 3 months and is on his 3rd sickness given to him by his big sis. This time it is bad. Even worse than when he was in the hospital. Both kids are sporting there fair share of 'polka-dots' but Hadley definitely has it worse with the blisters but Crosby is suffering with the higher fever and the sores in his throat. Neither one of them wants to drink but were forcing them and Hadley has not had more than a few bites of apple sauce in 3 days.

They will be home all week and we are taking turns from work but I am sure work hates me.. since returning to work a month ago both kids have been sick and Hadley has been multiple times requiring me to miss work. We'll take all the positive thoughts and prayers we can get for our kiddos to heal fast!

Friday Phone Dump

*our kitchen usually looks like this towards the evening
*Hadley steals the paci whenever she can and this is the girl who wouldn't take one after 4 months
*that is pretty much how Zoe sleeps on couch.. looks pretty uncomfortable to me
*I think we have ourselves a future flower girl.. she has been practicing with tissue and wipes
*lollipops and snacks are for sharing especially with the pups
*Crosby is boy enough to take a bath in a pink tub with a pink washcloth (he's already lifting his legs to toot and then smiles.. oh BOY!)

Sleep... What is that?!

No joke. Hadley and Crosby are SICK, again. We are just over it. Hadley literally screamed all but 4 hours last night. Crosby did okay but he was up at 3:30 and 6. So Hadley slept from 2-6 and just when we went to sleep the little guy was up.

I wasn't joking when I posted that Matt and I feel like we may never sleep again!
I cannot wait until my birthday - Stacy and BJ (BG according to Hadley) gave us the best gift! They are watching the kiddos for the weekend! Matt said we like them too much we shouldn't do this to them.. I said they offered so they'll learn :)

We are going to have a night or two of sleep.. WHOA HOO!! Just 2 more months before it happens :-)

Vocabulary

I am just amazed at how much Hadley's vocabulary has increased in the past few weeks. I felt like she was never going to talk. I guess I have felt that way for every milestone. I didn't think she was ever going to crawl and then one day she just up and crawled, same with her vocab. I guess for me it is hard to imagine them being big enough to do those things. I am definitely not pushing Crosby to the next big milestone because I know it will happen!

Now if you tell her something she comprehends what you are saying most of the time and tries really hard to say it correctly.  Today, she asked "More apple juice peas" and now if you sneeze or cough or she is just feeling it she will say "bless you!". She has some difficulty with "k" and some words she is so close to saying but then they come out wrong when she says them fast. Like banana. She knows it is ba-nana, but sometimes she says ma-nana! It's adorable and I know she knows it so although I correct her - I am enjoying those mispronunciations!  I have a few videos of us"chatting" but for some reason I am having difficulty uploading them. Once I do I will add them to this post.

Here is a list of words we hear many times a day:

Bar (she loves breakfast fruit bars!)
Ba or Manana
Apple Juice

Roar (We play like we are lions and all crawl around!) + many more animal sounds (moo, woof, meow, etc)
Minnie (She is really asking to watch Mickey but can't say the "ck")
NO NO! (She tells the dogs this all the time!)
Sit
Bow (She asks for bows in her hair know! Make me smile!)

Where's  __? (Usually blank is filled in with Daddy, Bubba, Zozo)
Pretty (I taught her this one to say to CC since that was my first 'big' word)
and my favorite BUBBLES!

(As you can tell the list is not organized at all.. I started typing them as I was hearing them. It's funny because we will be in the car and she will fire of a stern NO NO ZoZo! (even though zoe is not there) and then a Where's daddy? followed by another random word! It is fun to watch their little minds at work)

I know there are some I am missing, but even if she cannot say it she understands so much. If I tell her to take something to a specific spot she will. If I ask her to do something she will (ha - well not always, like when I tell her not to shove Crosby's paci back in his mouth - poor guy doesn't stand a chance with her!) She is learning so much! It is true what they say- they are like little sponges. If I start counting she will say "no" like I don't want to do that, but then she'll pipe in with a "two"or "five" or "eight" in the right order, but she will not count to 10 by herself.

I am really enjoying her new way of communicating, because the pointing, whining and crying were not my fav!
